JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. — Thanks to the use of technology and additional resources, the Shelby County Sherriff’s Department and the Bargersville Community Fire Department in Johnson County were able to locate a woman who went missing from her home.
The Bargersville Fire Department answered a call early Thursday morning, while it was still dark, to help a neighboring county find the woman.
The department used their drone as well as a thermal imaging camera in the search.
The missing woman was having medical issues and left her home about two hours before the fire department arrived. Once the drone went up at the scene, the woman was quickly located one-quarter mile from her home.
She was then transported to the hospital for further evaluation, according to the fire department in their Facebook post. They said, “We would like to thank all those that have made it possible for us to have this new technology and appreciate being able to assist our neighboring departments.”
